The Ideal… BIRTHDAY

In our family, we take birthdays very seriously. There are normally only a few times in a year where you can sit down all together and enjoy time with your closest. Simply celebrating and recognising how lucky you are to be in this special someones life.

Now, we have found exactly what really ignites the spark in the heart of each of our loved ones. We will share with you, easy and warming ways to celebrate someone you care about.

1. Collaborate with someone to find a thoughtful gift.

Lost on what to give? Reach out to someone who's also looking for a gift to offer and get insight on what they are thinking. If you're looking to buy something a bit over your budget, it might be a good idea to buy the gift with someone else. As soon as you are two, the price range suddenly opens for a lot more options. 2. Personalised over price.

In our opinion, it's always more important that the gift is personalised, rather than expensive. If you can tell that you bought or made something that really represents the person, it automatically increases the value. The effort put into something homemade will also increase the value. For example flower bouquets can be quite pricey, why not go for a walk and pick some cute wildflowers for them. Make a drawing, make a personalised card, a cute poem. Or be extra by making an etiquette on a bottle of wine with a picture of the name of the birthday boy/girl. But it doesn't have to be complicated. A little salad on the beach with a cold Aperol Spritz in a thermos is easy, affordable and guaranteed to create a good time... Pack some real cutlery and nice drinking glasses to make it a bit extra fancy. A homemade birthday cake, or a cooking up a nice meal is also always a good idea!

3. Arrange a fun activity.

Know what the person likes, when choosing what to arrange for them. Remember, you can even plan someones birthday with them, to make sure they will love it. If the celebrant is someone who loves to relax with a book on the beach, organising a beach day might be ideal. If it's someone who loves sport, book a session of a cool sport they've been wanting to try, this could be a boxing class, pilates session or a beautiful hike. Please remember that it's not about you, but the birthday "kid"... Taking your dad to a spinning class on his birthday when golfing and drinking beer is his fave... maybe not the recipe for birthday success!

4. Drizzle attention throughout the day.

Many people's main focus is the birthday dinner. However, why save all the fun for the end of this special day? For us, breakfast is as important as dinner. If you live with the person, surprise them with their favourite breakfast in bed. If not, invite them for a brunch, a coffee or you can send them a treat by a delivery service.

5. Not free on the day or far away?

Don't worry, you can always send them a sweet message, a poem, some flowers... Just making a small effort goes a long way, maybe it will make their day.
